Are you interested in learning more about the healing benefits of ayurveda?

Join us for two weeks of Yoga & Ayurveda in beautiful Kerala, known as ‘God’s Own Country’ in South India.

Yoga and Ayurveda have been working together as sister sciences for centuries and find their origin in the Samkhya philosophy part of the Vedas. Ayurveda is a science of life and based on a mind-body connection that supports the body’s wisdom towards healing, rejuvenation and a personalized approach to health.

For two weeks, we will be enjoying daily Ayurveda treatments of 2 ½ to 3 hours in consultation with a Doctor, as part of a Panchakarma program and two daily Yoga classes supporting these treatments. Panchakarma (five treatments) entails a purification detoxification program balancing bodily functions and the mind, by cleaning the body of toxic materials left by disease and poor nutrition.  You will be able to decide with a doctor which treatment would be suitable for you.  If you do not want to undergo a complete Panchkarma program, you are welcome to choose from the individual treatments.

This retreat offers you a great opportunity to get to know Yoga & Ayurveda at Dr. Franklin’s Panachkarma Institute and Research Centre in Chowara, a beautiful, lush, green setting 10 minutes away from the beach.  For over 50 years Dr. Franklin’s offers authentic Ayurvedic treatments with qualified doctors and therapists.  The experienced team of doctors ensures the best personal care and effective treatments for all major ailments.

Kerala is a tropical paradise blessed with natural beauty.  We chose August because  monsoon season is the best time to receive Ayurvedic treatments.  The cool, humid, and dust free atmosphere helps the body's pores to open up, making your body most receptive to herbal oils and therapy.

Our yoga classes will be taught by International Yoga Teacher, Geraldine Hardy, and customized to the needs of the group while enforcing the Ayurvedic treatments. For the morning classes, we will have a dynamic flow with Vinyasa and/or Hatha Flow.  In the evenings, we will practice a soothing relaxing Yin or Restorative flow with daily meditation and pranayama sessions, tailored to the treatments you have received and your energy levels.

About Geraldine

Geraldine is the Founder of Azure Yoga, and she draws her inspiration for a Vinyasa Flow style from her experience in dance, while following the principles of ‘sthira sukham asanam’ (Yoga Sutra 2.46) – ‘creating the appropriate amount of effort to sustain ease in the body and mind’. Experiencing this balance ‘on the mat’ and then taking it ‘off the mat’ in our daily lives. 'I have learned in the past years that happiness and contentment starts with working within myself first and embracing to be a student for my lifetime, while enjoying my journey . …. From doing to be a human being'
